Stay copyright-safeUsing creative commons images?Prove you have the right with ImageStamper.
ImageStamper is a free tool for keeping dated, independently verified copies of license conditions associated with creative commons images. You can use it to safeguard your use of free images from license changes, or to prove you are the original image creator.Whether you are a blogger, a PR agency, a freelance photographer or a media production company, ImageStamper will give you peace of mind when it comes to using creative commons images.
Simply paste the URL of the page that contains the image and ImageStamper will note its license. It will then timestamp this license and will keep this timestamp permanently in your account. You can show this timestamp to others online via its unique public permalink.
Image user? Use ImageStamper to keep dated records of licenses under which you obtained your images. This way, even if one of the images is removed by its owner or its license is changed, you can use ImageStamper to prove that you still have the right to use it.
Image owner? Use ImageStamper to keep a dated record for each new image you upload. This will help you prove that you were the first to publish the image online. It will also show how the image was licensed when you uploaded it.
The service is in early beta and you can sign up! Currently the service supports images hosted on Flickr. In the coming weeks we will add support for images hosted on deviantART and a number of other image-sharing websites.
